Activities & Themes
Children's Summer Workshops offer children a huge range of activities & projects to choose from plus a wide variety of materials they can explore & experiment with!
Each child is encouraged to use their imagination & initiative. The art teacher provides inspiration and ideas.
There are tons of different art activities & projects to choose from!!
• ACTIVITY IDEAS A few activity ideas are: paint a picture, clay modelling, paint a t shirt, 3D painting, decorative mirrors with mosaics, collage, mosaic art, door signs, decoupage, 3D wooden models, fridge magnets, mask making, badge making, 3D plant pot design, fossil plaques, glass painting & much more!
Materials and Activities on offer during the Summer Art Workshops
CLAY MODELLING
Animals, creatures, structures, vehicles, sculptural, mini worlds, using plaster
FREE PLAY/EXPERIMENTATION
There are lots of art and construction loose parts on offer so that the children can make their own sculptures and models. We demonstrate the use of tools such as a glue gun, mixing glues and other natural materials with sand to create textured surfaces/collages.
WORKING WITH FABRIC
Techniques used to colour fabric and then creations/art work, t-shirts, pencil cases from fabric.
DECORATIVE PLANT POTS
Terracotta or plastic, hand painted & decoupage with acrylic paints.
DECOUPAGE
plant pots, bottles, boxes, jars, tins etc
DECORATIVE BOTTLES
hand painted & decoupage
MOSAICS
Creating mosaics using tiles and small mirrors on flat surfaces, bowls, birdhouses, picture frames.
COLLAGE
On wooden boards, boxes, plant pots
Using beads, jewels, sequins, tiles, feathers, paper, tissue paper, fabric, felt, ribbons, pressed flowers, shells, buttons, pebbles, tree bark, wool, tin foil, card,coloured transparent papers, Acrylic papers
DRAWING & COLOURING
pencils, coloured pencils, chalk pastels, oil pastels, charcoal, water colour pencils,
GLASS PAINTING
jars, bottles, sun catchers, candle holders
Creatng masks, sculptures with paper and making hand made paper
Objects using loose parts
peg people, wooden model kits, money boxes, wind chimes
USING PLASTER
Making textural molds and using bandages with plaster.
MIXED MEDIA PICTURES
paint, clay, collage materials, natural materials, sculpting /textured paste on boards
PAINTING
On wooden boards, canvases, water colour paper, T shirts/fabric/ bags
Using poster paint, water colours, oil paint, acrylic paint, fabric paint, glass paint
THEMED PAINT CHALLENGES!
Children have a limited amount of time (30 mins) to create unique artwork based on the set theme/idea!

INFO & TERMS & CONDITIONS
* Prices are per child, one block per child
* Book as many workshops as you wish, subject to availability
* Prices include all art materials & disposable aprons are provided
* Advance booking & payment is essential.
* Places are limited & are booked on a first come first served basis
* Places are booked & reserved when I have received your payment & booking form there are strictly no refunds on holiday workshops
* Missed or cancelled sessions are not re-fundable or transferable to another date/time
* It is your responsibility to ensure that your child arrives at the venue safely.
* Please drop off your children at The Orangery at Bishton Hall & it’s is your responsibility to collect your child from the orangery on time.
* Children must not be dropped off on the road & under no circumstances can they wait on the road to be collected. There is a car park provided at each venue.
* You must call the teacher immediately if you are going to be late collecting your child. You may be charged for late collection
* If Iguana Art Club need to cancel holiday workshops we will inform you as soon as possible. You will get a full refund or you can choose to have a credit note
* Children must be 4 years & over to attend holiday workshops
* Children can bring their own refreshments & snacks
* For 4 hour sessions – a packed lunch is required
